Insure Your Car from Flooding
Posted by Robert
The rainy season is a few weeks away, expect flooding to come in from time to time. But how can you insure your car and ensure that it’s covered under your current policy?
You need to know the types of car insurance first. There are three: liability, collision, and comprehensive. We suggest that if you’re going to buy auto insurance, you might as well buy a comprehensive package. The reason for this is so that you’ll be covered in case there would be any damage to your vehicle from natural disasters such as flooding.
Here’s one more tip: if your car is wrecked or destroyed completely, the insurance company will only cover the cost of how much your car is worth. Lastly, if the water came from the sky (ex:leaky roof , rain, snow, etc.) the damage is covered. However, if it came from the ground (flood, etc.) it won’t be covered because flooding isn’t covered under normal policies.

Agents Angry at Insurer Website

Why are insurance agents in Massachusetts angry at an auto insurance company website?
The company in the middle of the storm is Progressive Insurance and they just posted something on their website that may affect the sales of auto insurance agents: selling auto insurance policies. With that action, the middlemen’s jobs are now in trouble, but according to them the site is misleading and it asks for personal info prohibited by state regulations.
This is now under investigation by the attorney general. However, the Division of Insurance said the info on the site is potentially misleading but the company is in full compliance with state regulations.
According to Progressive Insurance’s head of agency operations, John Barbagallo , “We are committed to providing products and services to independent agents to help them compete effectively in the market and to help them grow.â€
Lying and Car Insurances

There are at least 11 million white lies being said or written each day regarding car insurance. This is the result coming from the survey done by moneysupermarket.com. It shows how many drivers would lie about what happened as to why their stuff got stolen in their cars. The survey done by further details it. According to the survey, the car owners found it more important not jeopardizing their car insurance rather than being honest with their circumstances.
When asked what they would do in the event that they left their car unsecured and it was broken into, a third of motorists would said that they would keep the truth from their insurer for fear that they would not be able to claim on the insurance; another third said they would tell the truth, and the final third were undecided about what course of action they would take.
If ever they were found out, this would push the price of for other motorists. And their claim would be denied as well.
Insurance Industry Monitors Your Driving

How would you like it if someone was monitoring the way you drive your car? Feel like Big Brother’s eyes are on you? This is what the car insurance industry wants to happen in the future. A black box will be installed in your car, for your benefit as well.
Yes, like the black box (actually it’s orange, weird they’d call it black) in airplanes that record flight movements and everything else that happens in the pilot’s cockpit, will also be installed in cars. The Association of British Insurers (ABI) say that this technology has already been installed in Staffordshire.
According to the Spokesman of ABI, Malcolm Tarling:
“Insurers will certainly use advances in technology and the goal that they are always trying to achieve is to ensure that the price that they charge for insurance reflects the actual risk.â€
